Should I go lower on the PSU to save a little bit? All suggestions welcome. I have read good things on the mobo as well. Overall, I really like the processor and ram I have chosen. I know that using cyberpowerpc will give me a hard drive, case, kb, mouse, etc that I don't really need but it does come with some decent freebies and extras I don't have. If I were building a custom build with a similar configuration, Id go with either the Antec EA-380D, Antec NEO ECO 400C, Corsair CX400 or SeaSonic S12II. As I stated in the title, my motherboard will no longer detect my old hard drive or even a new hard drive, etc. 450 Watts Standard Case Power Supply -> 600W XtremeGear Power Supply (+26) Power supply is of the crappy kind but as long as you dont overclock, the build should use less than 300W max load. As for the video card, going to use my old 7900 GT for now because I don't have any games that require much more. I dont plan on ever going SLI/Crossfire either. Would like to build this in the next 3 to 5 weeks. Never want to overclock, just run it stock speeds/cooling for the life of the machine.ĩ.

PC will be used for gaming (WoW, Starcraft 2, TF2), HD video editing and digital picture editing/viewing.Ĥ. But now I know there is obviously a different underlying issue.Īny help or insights are greatly appreciated.1. I had a EVGA GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 2GB, which I eventually returned because I thought it was defective. The strange thing is this is the second card I have attempted to upgrade too. I attempted to remove all the previous NVIDIA software, as I had seen it recommended on other troubleshooting cases, to no avail. I updated the BIOS rom recently, latest version 801. I then proceeded to work through bios options trying to see if there was an issue, and I was unable to find one. When first encountering the problem I went through the common double checks: make sure that 6-pin connectors were fitted correctly, proper seating. PCIe Slot works, I upgrading from an older NVIDIA GeForce GT 240 1GB, which works fine. Onboard video works, but nothing from the new card.

I am attempting to install a new GPU, XFX AMD Radeon HD 6870, and I am running into some issues, I am not getting any response from the card when I install it and boot.
